NCVBC 16's black went undefeated in pool play on Sunday.  The team beat Canby Blue 25-11, 25-18, Mid Valley 16 Black 25-14, 22-25, 15-7 and Webfoot 16 Silver 25-22, 25-20. That set up an opportunity for us to move up to the Gold division if we could beat Excel NW 16 Black. 

But we struggled with consistency in this match, had too many unforced errors and came up on the losing end in two.  It was a disappointing result but we rebounded and played very well when we beat Webfoot 16 Silver again to maintain our seed and place 3rd overall in the silver division.

Our three middles: Anna Chizum, Shelby Vasconcellos-Mattocks and Morgan Schwab combined to hit .285 on the day. Anna Chizum also had 7 aces for the day. Sydney Willson and Cierra Warren played great left side defense and pitched in another 3 aces as well.

The competition is very tough and we need to work hard every day in practice so that we can improve and make it to the gold division.  It's going to be a great and challenging year as we seek to become the best volleyball players that we are able.  I love working with these athletes and watching them grow as players. They are always working hard every practice.  It should be an exciting year.
